MUSIAD USA’s newly elected President Mustafa Tuncer and Executive Director Ibrahim Uyar, MUSIAD Secretary General Oguz Ozcan, Member of Board of Directors Alper Esen, Founding Members Tarik Argit and Mustafa Albayrak visited the H.E Mr. Serdar Kilic, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Washington, D.C.
During the meeting, representatives of the Turkish Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) briefed Ambassador Mr. Kilic about its upcoming International Fair and International Business Forum Congress, which will be held on November 26-30, 2014 at Istanbul CNR Expo Center, Turkey.
President Mustafa Tuncer stated that “Turkish trade volume is less than what it is supposed to be. That is why MUSIAD USA will be arranging more business trips to bring both Turkish and American Businessmen together in order to increase trade between two countries.” Mr. Tuncer, also, updated Ambassador Mr. Kilic for MUSIAD USA events for the near future.
Executive Director Ibrahim Uyar stated that MUSIAD USA has been working on Sister City Programs between the 50 states and the cities of Turkey. Sister city relationships are official links between local governments overseen by Mayors or Governors. The Sister City protocol includes strengthening economic, cultural, trade, business and social relationships between the cities. Mr. Uyar also mentioned that it is very essential for Turkey to be part of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) or Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and the U.S. and said “As MUSIAD USA, we will do our best to contribute in this matter.”
Ambasssador Mr. Serdar Kilic stated that they are willing to support MUSIAD USA to their fullest capacity and thanked MUSIAD USA for taking initiative with projects that build understanding and bridges across nations.
Delegation presented a plaque of appreciation to Ambassador Mr. Serdar Kilic.
