Press release: Recent US sanctions to Turkey
We are the business people who are living in the United States would like to make a following statement about recent political development between Turkey and USA.
As Two NATO members have a joint effort in common issues in the past, that’s why we believe both of the nations will solve this problem in diplomatic ways. United States and Turkey relations have always been more active and effective in internal issues not just in regional affairs.
As business people we are concerned that our main duty is to increase employment and increase the trading between the two countries. We believe political concerns should not interfere with trading between the countries. Statements made by the representatives of the two countries should not jeopardize the relationship.
U.S. exports of goods to Turkey in May 2018 has decreased by 6.5% to $881 million compared to the previous month. Total U.S. exports to Turkey in the first four months of 2018 has reached to $3.43 billion U.S. imports of goods from Turkey in May 2018 increased by 3.8% to $965 million compared to the previous month. Total U.S. imports from Turkey in the first four months of 2018 has reached to $3.51 billion.
The trade volume between Turkey and the US, reached $ 18.7 billion as of 2017 and we are expecting it to exceed to 20 billion dollars by the end of 2018.
We are hoping that both countries can come to a mutual resolution without interfering with the long lasting relationship.
