MUSIAD USA and KADEM are organizing a symposium, “World Women Summit”, in New York to draw attention to the injustices made against women and challenges women face in the business world.
Professor Gülnur Aybet, senior advisor to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, Associate Professor E. Sare Aydin Yilmaz, President of Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) and Tara Kangarlou, an award winning journalist, along with successful female figures of different sectors will participate in a symposium, World Business Summit, as speakers at the Yale Club of New York on March 13 to honor International Women’s Day.
Family and Social Policy Minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya is also invited as a speaker to join in the symposium in which issues such as gender inequality, empowerment of women, and women’s role as entrepreneurs will be addressed. MUSIAD USA President Mustafa Tuncer stated that MUSIAD intends to play a pivotal role in encouraging and increasing women entrepreneurs in the US to create equal opportunities. The gender pay gap and harassment scandals that are a current issue in the US is evident that these issues should be emphasized, he said. Ms. Yilmaz stated that women’s struggle for their rights and freedom is one of the most critical issues, and concluded with “creating a better world depends on ingraining democracy culture which can be realized by ending gender inequity.” Organized by TOA Consulting, the symposium aims to bring together women’s associations, civil society organizations, and the business community member s from different regions of the world.”
